As many of you know, the last two years have been quite difficult for me. But they led to great things like a greater focus on health and wellness in my business and learning how to use my emotions in ways that can benefit my life in positive ways.
They’ve also led to great people and places, and experiences that may not have happened had my life not changed in the way that it did.
It has taught me a great deal about going with the flow and following my intuition. After living in our home for eight years, loving the home but spending a lot of time traveling to places I loved more, we have sold our home. I am thrilled to say I’m starting my venture back to sunny warm places. The funny thing is I don’t have a concrete plan right now, and I’m okay with that. I’m letting the plan unfold itself at exactly the right time using the guidance I get in every moment. Friends and family were shocked, but to me it feels like second nature.
Though the stress of something new can throw people off, my body has reacted in exactly the opposite way. I’m feeling better day by day and have much more confidence in my healing. I’m convinced that sometimes our greatest fear stops our body from following its natural rhythm. All of that suppressed or held back flow doesn’t allow a body to do what it knows how to do, which is heal. Learning to let go of everything, every attachment to thought or physical things that you think you have to have, allows your mind rest and your body follows.
You don’t have to go all out and just give up everything in your life once. You can take it step-by-step and just find the things that have meaning for you and let go of the things that don’t feel good or right for your life or your health.
There’s a simple way to get started. I remember when I started life coach training they introduced us to the game of hot and cold. This is a way of training your mind and body to recognize what feels good and what doesn’t feel good. Too many times we are taught just to make the decisions logically in our mind which doesn’t encompass our greatest intelligence: our intuition. When you learn to look at your thoughts and desires in context of feeling hot and cold you begin to develop new skill within yourself of recognizing what you truly want which gives you more confidence to follow that towards your dreams, creating a new life, creating a better career, or creating better health.
It all begins with a simple question does it feel hot or cold.
Here’s an example:
You are considering a job change. You notice your mind is excited about it, but your body feels tense and your stomach may ache. Instead of becoming consumed by your symptoms thinking that they are an indicator of it not being a good decision, take a pause from your thoughts. Imagine yourself in a new career, see yourself performing the tasks and interacting with people at the job.
Ask yourself: does this feel hot which denotes excitement and increased energy or does it feel cold which makes you feel removed from that inner sense of excitement?
Recognizing the role that emotions play and how it affects your body when you have physical symptoms, is a great way to learn how to reduce stress, become clearer about what you really want and start to make positive changes in your health it also helps you make decisions with a greater sense of confidence
Keep going back to that and you’ll begin to see a path form in front of you that will enable you to make the decisions and changes that are right for you.
