The Number One Thing That Is Zapping Your Energy

th

Don’t waste your time and energy asking everyone for their opinion on your life.

I was a couple of credits shy of finishing my masters degree, but really wasn’t interested in the field of study. I was just doing it because I would get an increase in pay at my job. I kept asking people “Should I go back to school to finish my masters?”, “Should I get a degree in something else, but I don’t know what I want to do…” and on and on. I let everyone weigh in on decisions about my life. It got to a point where I felt I was allowing people to actually criticize me, with their judgments and opinions on why I didn’t want to move forward with that field of study. In the end, I caved and just finished the credits to prove that I could finish it.

I allowed other people to speak for me.

I gave them the platform and they created a voice for me with their words.

Some of them weren’t very nice, and they didn’t really reflect who I was.

Never let anyone speak for you. You have to create the voice in your life. It is your words and how you speak about yourself that will help you make the decisions that are right for you.

Do not give this power away.

It is the most powerful thing you have. It’s your ability to shape your world by the way you speak about yourself. The words you use are very important and are the driving force behind your decisions.

Try this empowering tool for 4 days:

1. Do not ask anyone for their opinion.

2. When you begin to doubt yourself, listen to the words you are using.

3. Change the words that don’t feel good.

4. Eliminate “I don’t know” from your vocabulary.

I’d love to hear how it’s worked for you :)
