Are You Waiting or Living?

Are You Waiting or Living?

When you ask people why they aren’t living the life that they want to, this is what they’ll say: “I don’t have the money”, “I don’t have the time” or “I don’t know what I want”. They also believe something in the present moment is not as it should be, that they need to move forward to a place where everything will be better. They live in a constant state of resistance and waiting.

This is creating needless suffering for you and everyone around you.

I’m here to tell you that it’s time to stop that shit.

I believe you can and [...]

Do You Live in Overwhelm or Excitement?

Do You Live in Overwhelm or Excitement?

Or in between?

I see it all the time in my clients and it’s something I’ve had to work on in myself.  There’s this excitement of knowing exactly what you want and seeing it so clearly in your mind and then bam!  The overwhelm hits. Then you start living in the in between.  Feeling like you want your dream so badly that you can taste it, but your mind is thinking something will go wrong and it’s just way too much to handle. So you start creating excuses like you have to much on your plate to focus on it, you don’t [...]

Love, Lipstick, and Letting Go

Love, Lipstick, and Letting Go

Some days are better than others, even for a life coach.A couple of months ago I was in a funk getting frustrated doing some work on the computer that I really didn’t want to do.I tried all my usual tactics like a timer, reminding myself it was just temporary, and doing some reading. But the fact was I just really did not want to be doing that type of work, especially at that moment. It was a few days before a millennial birthday and I’d had a lot of personal things going on. As the frustration mounted and I told [...]

The Number One Thing That Is Zapping Your Energy

The Number One Thing That Is Zapping Your Energy

Don’t waste your time and energy asking everyone for their opinion on your life.

I was a couple of credits shy of finishing my masters degree, but really wasn’t interested in the field of study. I was just doing it because I would get an increase in pay at my job. I kept asking people “Should I go back to school to finish my masters?”, “Should I get a degree in something else, but I don’t know what I want to do…” and on and on. I let everyone weigh in on decisions about my life. It got to a [...]

Why Doing It Yourself Doesn’t Work

Why Doing It Yourself Doesn’t Work

I’ve always been a do-it-yourselfer (not sure if that’s even word). Fiercely independent, and at times stubborn, I always wanted to do things on my own. In the past it was difficult for me to ask for help. I always believed I could do it myself. Then along my journey I realized that trying to do it alone makes it much more difficult than it needs to be.

A part of me still thinks it’s true that you can do anything yourself, but the other part knows there’s a true power and a greater outcome when you ask [...]

Want a Complimentary Session With Me?

Want a Complimentary Session With Me?

As all of you know, I have created a new website and name for my company.  I have also created a new Facebook page.  One of my main goals in creating my new website was to create a community where women felt comfortable sharing their dreams, goals, and possibilities with like-minded women who would support them and have their back.  I find that way too many women isolate themselves and don’t reach out to others.

When you are part of a supportive community it makes all the difference in achieving your goals and creating better physical and mental health.  It [...]

What My Dog Taught Me About Acting Vs. Believing

What My Dog Taught Me About Acting Vs. Believing

A few years ago I lived in Austin, TX. When I arrived, my dog Aspen was completely terrified of water. Any time we went to a beach or lake she would run from the water like it was fire. If we attempted to take her on a dock she would root her feet so firmly on the ground it was impossible to move her.

I had pretty much given up on her and water. I happened to have a place that was very close to both lakes and creeks. After being there for four months, one day [...]

Lessons From an Ex in Self Care

Lessons From an Ex in Self Care

“Why don’t you stop being a martyr all the time and take care of yourself? Tell people what you want and ask for help.”

These words were spoken many years ago and fell on deaf ears for two reasons: First, because he was one of those crazy ex boyfriends who you look back upon and say, “why was I ever with him?”. Second because I had no idea what asking for what I needed meant.

He was right; I was acting like a martyr. I put everyone else’s [...]

Three Ways to Freedom

Three Ways to Freedom

“A life lived in fear is a life only half lived.” -Unknown

I came across that quote this week and it really struck me. Fear is a driving force in so many decisions that people make and though it can be healthy at times, most of the time it leaves us in a state of half satisfaction, half deciding, and not really where we want to be. We fool ourselves into thinking that it’s safe because it feels good and then we get to stay exactly we’re at.

It also confuses our bodies which want to be fully alive, not just [...]

The One Thing You Really Need

The One Thing You Really Need

It’s the week after the Fourth of July holiday in the US, and I imagine many of you had a busy week with friends and family.

The time off is invigorating, but I imagine you also might be feeling kind of a letdown.

The one thing you need to do after a holiday or something big is very simple: rest.

But it’s the one thing we avoid because we convince ourselves we need to be busy, productive and doing something social.

This became so clear to me recently when I went to the zoo, two times in one week.  The first time I went [...]
